Viet Nam coffee output is seen at 18-20 MLN-Kg bag in 2008/2009 - ICO Head

    TRIESTE, Italy, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Coffee output in Vietnam, the world's No. 2 producer after Brazil, is expected to total 18-20 million 60-kg bags in 2008/09, above an official forecast, the head of International Coffee Organization said on Wednesday.

   In 2007/08, Vietnam produced 16.7 million bags of coffee.

   " Vietnam produces between 18 and 20 million bags this year," ICO Executive Director Nestor Osorio told a coffee conference in Trieste .

   Earlier this month, the official Vietnam News Agency quoted an industry official saying that Vietnam   raised its 2008/09 coffee output by 11 percent to 16.7 million bags. (Reporting by Svetlana Kovalyova, Editing by Peter Blackburn)
