Vietnam coffee exports rise by 7,1% in Jun.2008

Vietnam’s  coffee exports  in Jun 2008 are  estimated at 75,000 tonnes, or 1.25 mln 60-kg bags, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said.  
In Jun 2007, Vietnam had exported  70,000 tonnes of coffee. The GSO also revised up the country’s  May coffee export estimate to 73,000 tonnes from its previous estimate of 70,000, but gave no reason for the correction. The estimated export volume for Jun brings Vietnam’s total coffee exports  between Oct 2007 and Jun 2008 to 792,000 tonnes, or 13.2 min 60-kg bags, down by 24.6% from 1.051 mln tonnes, or 17.5 mln bags, shipped the same period in 2006/0.
