Liffe robusta coffee hits 4-month low
Liffe robusta coffee hits 4-month low
LONDON, June 22 (Reuters) - Liffe robusta coffee set a
four-month low in early trade on Wednesday as bearish technicals
helped to spark sales while ICE arabicas edged higher.
Cocoa prices were mixed with a firmer dollar weighing on ICE
prices while sugar slipped back slightly but remained within
striking distance of peaks set earlier this week.

Vietnam Coffee-Stocks thin, premiums to London widen
    * Exporters buy from foreign trading firms
   * Premiums widen to $50/tonne this week

HANOI, June 14 (Reuters) - Thinning stocks in Vietnam, the
world's top robusta coffee producer, have hindered new deals
this week and stopped exporters purchasing from farmers for
loading, which has in turn lifted export costs, traders said on
Tuesday.

SINGAPORE, June 8 (Reuters) - Robusta coffee from top producer Vietnam was traded at premiums for the first time since at least May 2010, while Indonesian roasters snapped up any beans on offer as supply worries lingered, dealers said on Wednesday.
Vietnam's robusta grade 2, 5 percent black and broken beans, changed hands at premiums of between $20 and $60 to London's September contract <LRCU1> on thinning stocks ahead of the next harvest and after strong exports earlier this year.

Vietnam coffee may hit $2,680-$2,924/T in H2-Ag Min
HANOI, June 1 (Reuters) - Domestic coffee prices in Vietnam
could rise to between 55 million dong and 60 million dong
($2,680-$2,924) a tonne later this year because global supplies
are tight, the Agriculture Ministry said on Wednesday.
Export prices rose to $2,555 a tonne on May 26, up 4.2
percent from $2,451 on May 1, tracking higher prices on
international markets, the ministry said in its monthly report.
The forecast price, which would set a record high,
represents a rise of at least 6.5 percent from the 51.5-51.8
million dong a tonne in the Central Highlands coffee belt on
Wednesday.

ICO sees Brazil 2010/11 coffee crop at 47 mln bags
LONDON, Aug 16 (Reuters) - The International Coffee Organization said on Monday it estimates the world's largest coffee grower Brazil will produce 47 million 60-kg bags in 2010/11.
Brazil's output is expected to fall just short of the record 2002/03 crop, which produced 48.48 million bags, but well above 2009/10 production of 39.47 million bags.
The ICO maintained its forecast for world 2010/11 output at between 133 million and 135 million bags, up from 120 million bags the previous crop.
The 2010/11 crop from Vietnam, the world's second-largest coffee producer, could be damaged by adverse weather, the ICO said without giving an updated estimate. In its June, report the ICO estimated Vietnam's crop at between 16 million and 18 million bags.
Some coffee growing areas in southern Vietnam have been drier than normal and rains are needed to prevent declines in production, weather forecaster Meteorlogix said on Monday.
World consumption is expected to recover in 2010, after falling by 1.5 percent in 2009 to 128.8 million bags due to the global economic slowdown, the ICO said.
